10 Years in the NYC Diamond District!
Charlton & Lola officially began work in New York City’s Diamond District in January 2016. But the story starts earlier, well before a studio, a bench, or a name.
In 2011, the brand began quietly, out of an apartment close to the West Village. That same year, in October, Lisa enrolled in jewelry school. Nights were spent learning fine jewelry bench work and design fundamentals-slow, exacting work that rewards patience and discipline. There were no shortcuts, only repetition and respect for the craft.
By January 2016, that jewelry foundation made it possible to take the next step: establishing a permanent presence in New York City’s Diamond District. The District is not simply a location; it is a training ground. It demands technical fluency, discretion, and consistency. Remaining rooted here for ten years is not about visibility-it is about credibility, continuity, and commitment to the work.
Over the last decade, Charlton & Lola has grown piece by piece. Engagement rings designed with intention. Heirloom jewelry thoughtfully reimagined. Milestones marked with care rather than excess. Every project began with listening: understanding not only what a client wants to wear, but what they want to preserve.
Our values have remained steady throughout this journey. We believe in quiet luxury. In discretion. In jewelry that is meant to endure. We believe fine jewelry carries meaning best when it is made thoughtfully and worn often.
Ten years in the Diamond District represents more than longevity. It reflects a path that began in an apartment in 2011, continued through years of formal training, and matured through daily practice among some of the most skilled craftspeople in the world.
This anniversary is not an endpoint. It is a marker along a much longer road-one defined by discipline, intention, and work made to last.
